How to Install Your Theme and Import Your Demo

THINGS YOU NEED TO DO AND KNOW BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Here are really important things you need to do before you start installing your Kadence Child themes.

  1. Full Website Backup: This is the most crucial step for existing sites. Use a reliable backup plugin (like UpdraftPlus or Solid Security) to create a complete, restorable backup of your files and database. If anything goes wrong during the installation or customization, you can quickly revert your site to its current state.
  2. Update your site to the latest version of WordPress
  3.  Deactivate any other editor plugins. If you are currently using other editor plugins, please deactivate it prior to installing your theme. Kadence is built for the Block Editor and does not support the Classic Editor.

PLUGINS THAT ARE OPTIONAL

  • Woocommerce – install if you want to have an online shop in your site
  • WP Recipe maker – install if you are posting recipes in your site
  • Custom Portfolio – install if you want to feature images in your site.

  1. Upload the Kadence Parent Theme
  2. Upload your Rakshi Creations Child Theme
  3. You will be prompted by a checklist to upload needed plugins
  4. Upload Kadence Blocks Plugin
  5. Upload One Click Demo Import Plugin
  6. Upload Woocommerce only if you want to have an online shop in your site.
  7. Set your Home Page and menu items. Set your shop page and add products to set up your online shop.

FOR ALL EXISTING SITES PLEASE KEEP IN MIND

If this is not your first time using Kadence, the checklist may not appear for you after you install your child theme. You just need to manually upload the recommended plugins for the child theme that you bought.

⚠️IMPORTANT

If your website already has content, the demo may look misaligned or messy at first — this is completely normal.

You will need to:

  • Replace demo images
  • Update the text
  • Rearrange or delete blocks you don’t need

Your site will start looking polished as soon as you customize everything.
